Charming, Warm Dog Story

I just finished Angus and Sadie by the award-winning author Cynthia Voigt.

This winsome story follows the growth and training of two border collie puppies. Brother and sister, Angus and Sadie, differ in temperament, skills, abilities and interests.

Set on a farm in Maine, the pups learn to handle sheep, cats, skunks, children, their owners, and each other.

A fun book of discovery, I recommend this for young readers through middle school. Since the book is written from the dogs' perspective the one difficulty for young readers is the italic text the dogs use.
